You can never be sure what the weather in Britain will do, so a pair of winter ankle boots is usually a good bet. In the cold, they work brilliantly for the school run, or commuting to work, but work equally well with jeans and a jacket . Helly Hansen have the Sorrento 2.0 Boots in their winter range this year, and as soon as I put them on I didn’t want to take them off!
These Sorrento boots come in a tan colour which is 100% leather. There are lots of other colours too including black and various shades of grey, plus different colours of fur lining and soles. There are different colours of laces for each colour of boot too, but the rest of the design is the same throughout the range. The outer material is highly protected so you don’t need to add any extra sprays to it in order for the boots to be waterproof or windproof. The boots are treated with various Helly Hansen technologies such as Spray Tech, Pro Guard, Max Grip and Surround-Grip. Inside, the fake-fur lining is made of polyester and even the collar is padded. The sole is made of vulcanised rubber, so with all of these creature comforts and premium components, what’s not to like?
As soon as I tried these on, my little feet were in heaven! They’re so comfy, especially with the fur lining and you can feel how warm they are instantly. They come pre-laced which is useful, and the soles are super sharp when it comes to walking. It’s not icy yet, but I can imagine them being very sturdy. When walking, they feel like a triangle – wide base but lighter on top, making them very easy to walk in no matter the weather.
I don’t normally have winter boots which are actually meant for winter, but if this winter is going to be as brutal as the summer was, I am sticking to my Helly Hansen boots.
