iWalk Sparkly Portable Charger

Disclaimer – We have received this item for free or on a loan basis for the purpose of this review/feature but all words and opinions are our own.

As far as Christmas gifts go, anything that is useful is good with me.  The iWalk Sparkly Portable Charger is a USB-C charger with the added appeal of being sparkly, and in the case of the model sent to me to review, it’s purple too!

Suitable for newer iPhones as well as lots of other models and gadgets, the iWalk is easy to charge and easy to use. Inside the box, the charger has a cable which hooks up to your PC via a USB-C so that you can charge it whilst you’re working. It holds 500mAh of charge, which is about 2.5 battery life charges for my iPhone 16 if you start with the iWalk fully charged. It’s also able to be used with the iPhone 15 and SAMSUNG S24/23+, Google Pixel 3, AirPods, iPads and some other phone and tablet models too.

With its sparkly purple colouring, it looks like a piece of make-up rather than a boring techie object and can fit in even the smallest of handbags. I particularly like having it because you can put it in your bag and forget about it, plus you can plug it into your phone and still be using your phone (or tablet!) at the same time. Not many charging banks are easy to use like that, but the iWalk is designed to be used on the go. It even comes with its own pouch for keeping in your luggage or handbag!

This is a great gift for a teenager or a stocking filler for your loved one. It’s a bit more expensive than some chargers, but it makes up for it by being quicker on charging (42% in 30 minutes for an iPhone 16) and the super handy size that can fit anywhere!

PLAYinCHOC

Disclaimer: We received these products free of charge for the purpose of this review and all thoughts and opinions are our own.

It can be hard to find delicious tasting chocolate that is suitable for people with different dietary needs so PLAYinCHOC is such a great find as it is vegan, organic, dairy free, nut free, and gluten free.

The PLAYinCHOC Christmas collection includes all six of the fun ToyChoc boxes and inside every box are two individually wrapped 10g organic chocolates, a festive 3D puzzle to build and a fun fact card to read. The 3D puzzles are all Christmassy – a snowman,  cheeky elf,  friendly ginger-bread figure, Christmas tree, reindeer and of course Father Christmas. Simply pop out the sturdy cardboard pieces and slot them together. The leftover pieces can also be used as stencils which are perfect for keeping little hands busy over the holidays.

The chocolate is smooth and creamy and is made from just three simple organic ingredients – cacao, vanilla and coconut. It also has a third less sugar than other leading brands and importantly, it tastes delicious – no bitter aftertaste, just pure chocolate deliciousness. Our mini-reviewers happily nibbled while tackling their puzzles, awarding it a resounding thumbs-up.

With its award-winning credentials – from a Great Taste Award in 2022 to Gold at the Free From Food Awards – this is a lovely stocking filler or table gift for both children and adults.

Edifier ES850NB Headphones

Disclaimer: We received this product free of charge for the purpose of this review and all thoughts and opinions are our own

Headphones have become an everyday essential for me – whether I’m commuting, working from home or just listening to music you’ll usually see me wearing a pair. Over the years I’ve come to expect great sound quality from Edifier and their ES850NB headphones have certainly lived up to my expectations.

Listening to music is a pleasure, with Hi-Res Audio certification and 40mm titanium-coated drivers, these headphones deliver crisp, studio-grade sound and are backed by LDAC, AAC, and SBC codec support for lossless wireless performance. The sound quality, even at the highest level, is fantastic with no distortion.

The upgraded noise cancelling (up to -45dB) is brilliant too. It takes the edge off busy trains, noisy cafés, or even just background chatter at home, which makes such a big difference when I’m trying to concentrate. I’ve also noticed that calls sound sharper, the built-in AI-powered microphones filter out background noise so my voice comes across clearly, even when the world around me isn’t so quiet.

They can connect to two Bluetooth devices at the same time, so I can switch seamlessly between my laptop and phone without fiddling with settings — really handy if I’m listening to music and a call comes through.

The headphones are really well built and comfortable to wear, the ear cups are softly padded with memory foam and the multi angle rotation and adjustable headband make it easy to get the perfect fit. I’ve worn them for hours at a time and they never feel heavy or uncomfortable, which makes them ideal for long workdays or travelling.

The battery life is excellent, an impressive 92 hours of continuous playback in normal mode and even with noise cancelling on you’ll still get 53 hours of playtime. A quick 15 minutes charge will give an additional 11.5 hours of playtime, perfect when I’m about to leave the house and realise the battery is low!

With fantastic sound quality, excellent battery life and a comfortable fit the Edifier ES850NB headphones are an impressive all rounder and will make a great Christmas gift this year.

Casdon Dyson Cordless Vacuum & Dyson Styling Set

Disclaimer – We have received this item for free or on a loan basis for the purpose of this review/feature but all words and opinions are our own.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always loved the idea of making a ‘grown up’ object miniature and still be able to use it.  The Dyson hairstyling set and Dyson Cordless Vacuum do just that – shrink down the real-life size to something manageable to a toddler.  Both sets actually work too, with the hairdryer from the styling set blowing air and the cordless vacuum really does have working suction!

The Dyson Styling Set contains a hairdryer, diffuser attachment, straightening nozzle, brush and comb. It’s based on the (very expensive) version of the Dyson supersonic that’s a favourite of Millennials. Each of the attachments actually work, so the brush can be used to brush a child’s hair, the diffuser and nozzle attach to the hair dryer and both can be used to ‘dry’ hair, although the air current is very weak. They are absolute miniatures of the real thing, just half the size for little hands to be able to use them! There’s even sound effects and panel lights to make it more realistic.

The Dyson Cordless Vacuum is again a miniature replica of the real thing. It comes with the main vacuum body, long nozzle attachment, and an interchangeable carpet vacuum head.  Just like the real-life thing! The whole vacuum measures 68cms in height, but it’s very lightweight for a toddler to be able to pick it up and use it. The body of the vacuum, where the dust would usually be collected, is filled with tiny coloured particles which children can take out and vacuum up again.

With both kits, there is a great deal of learning for small children, which not only includes role play and imagination play, but the dexterity of using the brush and diffuser tools, adding and removing the vacuum heads and pressing all the buttons. There’s the science behind the air currents too, and cause and effect. They’re brilliant for keeping children amused, and we won’t mention how it encourages them to help out around the house too!

Curlsmith Hair Products

Disclaimer: we received these products free of charge for the purpose of this review and all thoughts and opinions are our own.

Like many people with curly hair, I’ve spent years straightening and blow drying it and it’s only in the last couple of years that I’ve ditched the straighteners and started to embrace my curls. They are currently quite dry and unruly and it’s taken a lot of trial and error (and more money than I care to admit) to find a routine that really works. I’m always on the look out for new products to try and Curlsmith has been on my radar for a while, so I was delighted when a parcel of their products arrived for me to try.

The Full Body Weightless Cleanser (RRP £22) lathers beautifully and smells gorgeous – a lovely light, flowery fragrance that makes me want to keep smelling my hair all day long! The Full Body Milk Conditioner (RRP £22), with its handy pump dispenser, is easy to work through my hair and I found I didn’t need much to hydrate my curls. I leave it on for the suggested couple of minutes before scrunching and rinsing. My curls love the hydration and it leave sthem soft, bouncy, and far less frizzy. Even after a couple of days, they still look smooth and defined, which never normally happens with my hair!

Ordinarily, unless I spend ages carefully drying my hair, I end up with a halo of frizz. But since I started using these products I’ve found my curls spring back to life with no frizz in sight and once dry are defined, bouncy and look amazing.

The Frizz Rescue Finishing Serum (RRP £25) is enriched with sweet almond oil and argan oil has really helped banish the frizz. I’ve been using a blob about the size of a 5p which I warm in my hands before smoothing over my curls, concentrating on the top where the frizz is usually the worst. It instantly tames flyaways and is also great for defining individual curls. It does take a bit of trial and error to judge the right amount so start with a small amount and build up, otherwise you may end up with greasy looking curls.

Refreshing curls has always been the hardest part of my curly journey so I was curious to see how the Shake & Shine would perform. The lightweight mist sprays easily, locking moisture into the hair – in fact in Curlsmith tests it provided up to a 41% increase in moisture. It’s been a real game changer for my curls – a few sprays, a quick scrunch, and suddenly my curls bounce back, looking defined and revived with almost no effort.

Curlsmith products are vegan, cruelty-free, and packed with natural ingredients. I’m really impressed with these four products and the results speak for themselves. My curls are shinier, smoother, and, on most days, even cooperative. Every so often they do their own thing, but that’s curls for you!

The Moon Tarot Cross Stitch Kit

Disclaimer – We have received this item for free or on a loan basis for the purpose of this review/feature but all words and opinions are our own.

If you are looking for a cracking gift for the creative person in your life or a relaxing new hobby for yourself, a cross stitch kit from Innocent Bones is a great place to start.  Modern, stylish designs combine craft with art for both beginners and more experienced sewers, offering a mindful and rewarding experience that creates an artwork you can display in your home.  There are several collections available including Folklore, Mystical and Gothic, and each collection includes a rich choice of design options enabling you to tailor the choice of kit to the personality of the recipient or even to build up a whole collection over time.

I have been enjoying creating The Moon from the Tarot collection in my free time over the past few weeks.  It’s a really simple and effective design with a modern feel to it, and I absolutely love the colour choices.  The thing about cross stitch that particularly appeals to me is that you don’t need to come to it with any particular skills or even a lot of free time.  It’s something you can just pick up and put down but it’s also a very rewarding process.  I always find that taking some time out of my busy day to sew a few lines centres me and brings a wonderful sense of calm.

Each kit contains a guide to basic cross stitching, a printed design chart to follow, cross stitch and backing fabric cut to size, and a generous amount of high-quality embroidery floss that is more than enough to complete the design.  The kit also includes all the necessary equipment for the complete beginner, including a 5 inch wooden embroidery hoop, a pair of embroidery scissors, a packet of needle threaders and the perfect size needle.  It all comes packaged in an attractive eco-friendly box that is tailor-made for gifting to someone you love.

I would give Innocent Bones’ cross stitch kits a solid five stars and would recommend them to anyone.  These high quality kits are an inspired gift idea – creative but not complicated, great value for money and you get to create something beautiful!

Build Your Own Marble Labyrinth Advent Calendar

Disclaimer – We have received this item for free or on a loan basis for the purpose of this review/feature but all words and opinions are our own.

I’ve been really looking forward to this advent calendar! As children, we loved making our own toys so this Marble Run from Build Your Own Kits.  The kit arrives in flat form, with 24 days’ worth of instructions under advent windows which children can open and use piece-by-piece to build their own marble run. The kit is made entirely of engineered cardboard and there’s no gluing, sharp objects or tools needed.  If you want to, you can build the whole kit in one go without opening the windows by using the instructions which are also included. In the interest of doing a review, that’s what I opted for, and had great fun in doing so!

The enforced cardboard pieces are easily popped out but for little fingers, there is a cardboard too.  The instructions are without words, so even smaller children can read them, but I would suggest that the age 8+ years on the box is about right, as it took me a few turns of the paper to be able to work out how some of the pieces go together.  The instructions say that it’s 3.5/5 in difficulty and I would agree. Some of the parts fit together with ease, and there are steps which are repeated so once you get the hang of it, you can just go on and do the next part.  It’s incredibly rewarding though, even if it is a bit fiddly at times. It took me about 90 minutes to put it all together non-stop on my own and that was with scratching my head for a few minutes on one part!

The Marble Run builds up in stages with square structures on levers and balances. It’s a fabulous way to learn about physics practically as you have to get the pieces fitting together correctly for the whole kit to balance and fit together. The levers at each side move the trays inside the box, which is on a frame and therefore allows the users to adjust the level of the trays to move the marble around the course.

From the start, it’s very easy to understand the instructions. Even without words, you can work out how to put the pieces together because the instructions show you which sheets of cut-outs you need, plus they pieces are numbered. Where there are multiple pieces that fit together, they are colour coded too, so you can hold up the model against the instructions and see how they fit together.  Once you have all the trays and the frame made up, the instructions tell you how to put it together, and include a box for the marbles as well! It was actually quite easy to put the frame and trays together, and once I did, it was obvious how it all worked.  The game is quite tricky because the marbles get stuck in the holes. The object of the game is to get the marble from start to finish without getting stuck, and although it’s difficult at first, it becomes compulsive to try and get the knack. There’s also some different templates to use once the game is finished so that everyone can play and no one gets bored with the same route.

The whole game is really robust, so there’s no chance of breaking it unless you use real force. I think this is a great advent calendar for older children or for parents to sit down with younger children every night and assemble together. It’s great for dexterity too – I know my grandfather would have loved this as an advent calendar because it’s such a brain teaser, plus the game at the end is a challenge for children and adults alike, especially in winter. Great way of getting children off of screens too!

I absolutely loved doing this kit, and would happily give the advent calendar as a gift or try out some of the other kits on the Build Your Own Kits website: www.buildyourownkits.com The Marble Run Advent Calendar kit is available from late September for £24.99.

Danilo Elvis, Dr Who and Disney for Christmas

Disclaimer – We have received this item for free or on a loan basis for the purpose of this review/feature but all words and opinions are our own.

Danilo are synonymous with calendars and Christmas is the perfect time to give your loved ones a themed calendar they will love. The team at Danilo sent us three which are for all the family; Elvis, Dr Who and Disney!  Each of the calendars are marketed differently for a range of ages, so if you see something you like here, search on the www.Danilo.com website and see if there’s one in a different format. They’re great stocking fillers and some of them are on sale right now!

The Disney Calendar is a family calendar for up to 5 people. Each page has a Disney cartoon theme from Dumbo to Aladdin and Lilo & Stitch.  It also comes with a page of fabulous stickers for denoting the school holidays, parents’ evening and the school play, right down to character stickers and phrases. These are great for adding to the calendars but also great for keeping the children entertained in the kitchen when you’re trying to cook or concentrate.  It’s lovely and colourful too so you can’t miss it on the wall!

Elvis fans will adore this special edition Elvis calendar in the form of an LP. It opens up from what looks like a retro LP cover to reveal the calendar which has a photo of Elvis on every month and the calendar days underneath. It even notes Elvis’ birthday on 8 January!  The photos are from his Promised Land album, released in 1975, which is the theme of the calendar. The photos are all portraits and glossy with retro details of some of them being in black and white but all of them high quality. It shows Elvis at his best, if you’re wondering about what he looks like from his final years.

Finally, the Dr Who Collector’s Edition of the BBC programme is a Dr Who fan’s dream!  It comes in a presentation envelope and opens up to reveal 12 frame-ready prints. This isn’t a calendar for making plans on, it’s a monthly collector’s calendar where you can remove the poster-like prints and save them to frame, but there is the monthly dates across the top of each page.  The posters are all themed on details around Dr Who rather than the doctors or cast themselves. They remind me of artistic album covers which would look good on a wall anywhere, so it’s great to have a calendar which you can keep for longer than a year.

Casdon DeLonghi Barista Coffee Machine

Disclaimer – We have received this item for free or on a loan basis for the purpose of this review/feature but all words and opinions are our own.

Treat your little ones this Christmas to the same kind of pick-me-up as your coffee brings you with this replica, miniature sized coffee machine! Unlike the play pretend toys of our youth, this details coffee machine toy has everything that the grown-up version has including; two thermo coffee cups (for cappucino and americano), a milk jug (for frothing), portafilter and even a chalk board for writing up the menu and prices. It even has realistic sound effects! Even the dials go round, and the lever for the coffee beans works.

All the pieces fit nicely into the back of the machine and it requires 2x AAA batteries which are not included. It looks so unbelievably realistic though, it’s a real treat to be able to play with it!  It’s designed for children aged 3 and above, but if you don’t have a coffee machine at home (we don’t) then it’s difficult for a child to work out how to make the coffee and what the different parts are for. It’s great for older children to show them how to role play with it though, and if they see you make coffee at home on a similar machine, they even know the different types of coffee that can be made!

We loved how detailed the machine is, and the addition of the noises and how all the parts fit together at the back as well as interact with the machine added to the fun.  If you combine it with a tea set or play picnic it adds to the realism. Setting up a coffee shop at home is a real treat for children too, complete with money and finger sandwiches, there’s endless hours of play here.

Dozzz Luxury Momme Mulberry Silk Eye Mask

Disclaimer – We have received this item for free or on a loan basis for the purpose of this review/feature but all words and opinions are our own.

Sleep hygiene is so important yet it’s a fairly new revelation to most people. Blocking out light to create the perfect environment for a good night’s sleep is essential, so Dozzz have created the Luxury Momme Bulberry Silk Eye Mask.

Made with 100% Mulberry silk on both the inside and the outside, it’s incredibly soft, and light too. You can hardly feel it when you’re wearing it. It’s fastened at the back with Velcro which allows you to adjust for the size of your head as well as how tight you like the band to be whilst you sleep.  It also means that the whole sleep mask is breathable and doesn’t get sticky in the summer, which is when I first started using it.

Putting the mask on, you can see from the design and the padding in the right places that it blocks out light. I tried this during the days as well as night, as my bedroom is completely dark anyway until the sun comes up, but I can confirm that with a bit of wiggling, the mask covers all light!  The nose in reinforces to make it more comfortable and the eye patches are actually oversized so anyone can wear it. As there are no elasticated sides or fastenings, it doesn’t get caught in your hair or snag your skin.

In combination with other hygiene methods, the Dozzz Mulberry Silk Eye Mask helps with sleep but it can’t block out all of the annoyances. As I have pretty good sleep habits anyway, the mask really helped in the summer when the sun was up early and I would normally be woken at 5am.  I’m also aware that having a silk mask on your face is also a soothing method for a lot of people who suffer with anxiety at bedtime or don’t like being in the dark.  The softness of the silk is really comforting, and if you are a woman of a certain age, the silk help with pillow creases too!

I also love that this is easy to pack for travelling and great for sleeping on planes especially if you have noise cancelling headphones too.  The giftbox makes it a great present for Christmas, especially for light sleepers, but travellers too!

Available online from £49.99 at: https://dozzz.co.uk/products/dozzz-silk-eye-mask-navy-blue?variant=55091670516056

Warmies Keyrings

Disclaimer: We received this product free of charge for the purpose of this review and all thoughts and opinions are our own.

Sometimes it’s the little things that bring a smile to my face and my pink bunny Warmies® Keyring has been doing just that since it hopped onto my keys. Cute, cheerful, and surprisingly practical, it never fails to make me smile – and it also means I can find my keys a lot easier in the depths of my bag!

At just 3 inches tall, this mini bunny has a soft, squidgy body and the sweetest little ears that are impossible not to stroke. Like its bigger Warmies® friends it’s scented with lavender, so whenever I’m feeling stressed, a quick sniff is all it takes to help me relax. One thing to be aware of though, especially if you’re already a fan of Warmies® is unlike the larger toys these keyrings aren’t designed to go in the microwave.

The bunny is just one of a whole family of Warmies® Keyrings. With 11 different characters to collect – including an irresistibly sweet pink elephant, whichever character you choose, you’ll end up with a pocket-sized companion that brightens even the most ordinary of days.

At £8.99, they’re affordable and perfectly suited to those small-gift occasions: think stocking fillers, Secret Santa, or simply a treat for a friend. They’re lovely for children too, with the gentle scent making them especially soothing.

Technics AZ40M2 Earbud Headphones

Disclaimer – We have received this item for free or on a loan basis for the purpose of this review/feature but all words and opinions are our own.

These days, headphones are not only getting smaller, but these essentials of everyday life are being produced in better and better quality. The Technics AZ40M2 earbuds are headphones with Multipoint (meaning the headphones can be switched between use on different devices such as your laptop, phone etc) and Bluetooth with noise cancelling thanks to the earbud design.

The drivers are 6mm for ultimate comfort. The carry case is exceptionally small too, which makes them ideal for commuting or at the gym, and the short charging cord (USB-C) means the headphones can be charged at your desk, or whilst you’re travelling. The red light pulses on and off when the box is charging, green when the headphones are fully charged. There are 3 additional ear bud sizes available with the packaging, which, by the way is completely plastic free.  The earbuds have about 5.5 hours of play on full charge if you’re using noise cancelling, or 18 hours without. You can charge just one headphone at a time if you still want to listen to music though, which I thought was a really good tip! 15 minutes of quick charge will give you 60 minutes of listening. I haven’t yet been able to check though, how long it takes to fully charge them from completely dead, but I’m told it’s around 3 hours.

The headphones come in 3 different colours; silver, black and these ones are rose gold, which matches most brands of phones too. You can have noise cancelling as a complete block-out, or Attention Mode to focus on speech. Natural Ambient Mode allows you to select how much background sound to hear.  The touch controls on the earbuds include one tap for play, two taps on the left for volume down, two taps on the right for skip a track and so on… there’s a menu in the ‘Let’s get Started’ guide which comes in the box.

The instructions also explain how to pair the earbuds with your phone using Bluetooth. Just put the earphones in your ears, press the control pad for 5-8 seconds and you’ll hear music playing. Your device with Bluetooth will be able to pick up that the earbuds are available. It literally took 3 seconds! I would recommend downloading the Technics app for your phone though, as it gives more flexibility in the different controls you have, especially if you don’t want to learn what the tapping sequences do when wearing them.

The sound quality is excellent and very sharp. I didn’t find that the Bluetooth dropped out at all, and I used the app for the controls at first so that I didn’t have to keep looking for the paper instructions. I like my music quite loud, and I like to be able to adjust the bass etc. It doesn’t take long to learn the app and the headphones adjust quickly.

These are brilliant headphones for a stocking filler or a Christmas gift to yourself!

Calma Ezzence

Disclaimer: We received this product free of charge for the purpose of this review and all thoughts and opinions are our own.

I have suffered with eczema for many years, most of the time it’s under control but every now and again it flares up, with my hands and feet suffering the most. Stress seems to make it worse and when it does flare up my skin becomes very dry and itchy and can start cracking which is quite painful. So when Calma contacted me to see if I would be interested in trying a pot of their Calma Ezzence I jumped at the chance. I have been using it for the last month and I’m really impressed with the difference it has made to my skin.

Calma was founded by Janna, who understands only too well the misery eczema can bring. After years of relying on steroids, she realised there had to be a gentler approach that didn’t just mask symptoms but supported long-term healing and Calma Ezzence was born – a rich, steroid-free cream designed to restore the skin barrier and bring lasting comfort.

From the very first application, I noticed a difference. My hands, which were dry, and starting to crack felt instantly soothed. Within a few days, the redness had faded, the itching eased, and the chapped skin between my fingers has finally started to heal. The difference to my feet has been just as noticeable. The angry red patches have gone and the rough, scaly skin is at last beginning to improve and I am confident wearing sandals again.

I’ve been using the cream several times a day, the pot is small enough to pop in my handbag, which means I can reapply whenever I need to, whether I’m at work, with friends or simply pottering about at home. At night I use a more generous layer and let it soak in while I sleep, and by morning my skin feels softer and calmer. The cream feels lovely and rich and it simply melts into my skin without leaving it feeling greasy or sticky.

Calma Ezzence is free from the 26 main cosmetic allergens, as well as being fragrance free. It’s also safe for babies from six months old, and even during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

For me, this cream has been a game-changer – my skin feels soothed and hydrated and looks better than it has for a long while. If you’re struggling with eczema or dry skin, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Calma Ezzence

Opies Christmas Fruits in Syrup

Disclaimer – We have received this item for free or on a loan basis for the purpose of this review/feature but all words and opinions are our own.

Opies have once again started their Christmas selection with their Fruits in Syrup. The range is extensive, but we were sent a delicious selection to start with. Succulent & Lavish Peaches, Indulgent & Luxurious Black Cherries and Luscious & Indulgent Baby Pears. Each of the jarred fruits are marinated in alcohol too, so this is not one for the children!

Starting with the Opies Baby Pears with Luxardo Amaretto, these are whole pears, peeled and in syrup. They don’t have much of the Amaretto taste to them but they are very textured, like very, very ripe pears. These would be great on their own, to accompany a main dessert or even better, as part of a main dessert display with lots of different fruits. I think these Baby Pears would also work well with a cheese board, as the central character and lots of different cheeses around it.

The Opies Peaches with 12 year old Brandy again don’t have an overpowering brandy flavour, but they do have the soft silkiness from the syrup which makes them my favourite. I really like these on their own just with cream and would be a great antidote to Christmas’s rich food.  Perhaps in ‘Twixmas’; the time between Christmas and New Year? The jars make it easy to eat any of the fruits, I just keep them in the fridge and the syrup and the alcohol keeps them fresh.

Lastly, it’s the very Christmassy Opies Black Cherries in Luxardo Kirsch.  These have more of an alcoholic tang to them, and you feel like you can eat more because they’re smaller!  These are perfectly delicious to add straight to a trifle or a Black Forest Gateaux, or on top of a flan.  The black cherries are very juicy, and have the flavour of the Kirsch, but the cherry flavour comes through as well.  You can add these to just about any pudding or cake at Christmas time, and they certainly make desserts more festive!

Bedsure Sherpa Fleece Throw Blanket

Disclaimer: We received this product free of charge for the purpose of this review but all thoughts and opinions are our own.

A cosy blanket is one of those gifts that you don’t realise you need until you receive one and then wonder how you ever managed without it! There’s nothing better than snuggling up on the sofa, watching a festive film, whilst snuggled up in a cuddly blanket. And they’re not just for the sofa – pop one on the bed and it’s perfect for keeping the chill away on those frosty winter nights.

Bedsure recently sent me one of their Sherpa Fleece Blankets which are available in four sizes – Throw/Single, Twin/Double, Queen and King. With an impressive 22 colours to choose from ranging from soft pastels like pink, cream and lilac to bolder shades like navy, black and dark grey there’s a colour to suit all tastes whether it’s for a Scandi-style living room or to add a pop of colour to a bedroom.

The Throw/Single size measures 130 x 150cm and is the perfect size for sharing on the sofa or layering over the bed. It’s also reversible, one side is silky-soft 220 GSM flannel, while the other is a wonderfully plush Sherpa fleece. It’s incredibly warm but surprisingly lightweight and if you’re of those people who feels the cold easily then you definitely need one of these blankets on your Christmas list this year! Although summer might not seem the perfect time to test a blanket, I took mine on a caravan trip and was very glad I did. It was perfect for wrapping myself in when we were sat outside chatting with friends and it kept me lovely and snug when the temperature dropped.

The blanket is machine washable between 30°C and 60f°C, although 40°C is recommended to keep it in top condition. You can also tumble dry it on a low heat, which helps maintain its softness after washing.

Some people are more difficult to buy for than others, but this year I’ll have them covered – quite literally – with a Bedsure Sherpa Fleece Blanket. It’s the kind of present that’s practical and indulgent and I can already picture them curled up in it on Boxing Day, cup of tea in hand, feeling toasty and very pleased with their gift.

Sure Whole Body Deodorant

Disclaimer: We received these products free of charge for the purpose of this review and all thoughts and opinions are our own.

Sure recently sent me a few products from their Whole Body Deodorant range to try. Now, as a woman of a certain age, I’m no stranger to the dreaded hot flushes – and when you add in a daily cycle commute, it’s fair to say I get through a lot of deodorant, especially in the summer. So, I was interested to see how these products would cope on a hot day full of pedalling, meetings and general running around.

I tried the fresh citrus stick deodorant first and, just in case, popped it into my bag for a lunchtime top-up. But to my pleasant surprise, lunchtime came and went – and I was still as fresh as when I left the house.

Now, I’ve never used a cream deodorant before and wasn’t sure what to expect but was it was a surprise hit! It has a creamy texture and feels more like a body lotion than deodorant and even on a hot day I didn’t need to reapply it. The scent is fresh without being overpowering, and it didn’t irritate my skin at all, even straight after shaving. It’s also really versatile, you can use it on your feet, chest, or anywhere you tend to sweat more.

Then there’s the Wild Rose aerosol, with its light, floral fragrance that felt delightfully summery. It’s brilliant for a quick all-over refresh after cycling to the office and it doesn’t just mask odour, it helps prevent it from forming in the first place.

Dermatologically tested and approved by the British Skin Foundation, the range contains 0% aluminium and are designed to neutralise odour before it even begins. I’ve found that all three styles keep me feeling fresh all day long and easily fit in my handbag so I can freshen up whenever I feel the need.

The Sure Whole Body Deodorant products are available in four different scents – Ocean Rush, Active Fresh, Fresh Citrus and Wild Rose.

If you’re looking for something reliable to get you through the summer, whether it’s cycling to work, running errands, or just trying to stay fresh this range is definitely worth a try. Practical, portable and, most importantly, it works.

All the products have a RRP of £5.25 and are available from Boots

B:UNDENIABLE

Disclaimer: We received these products free of charge for the purpose of this review and all thoughts and opinions are our own.

We love discovering new beauty brands at The Review Studio so were really pleased when a parcel arrived from B:UNDENIABLE. Launched in July 2025 their GRNDRIIZING Collection blends high performance formulas with holistic wellness, setting a new standard in the beauty world. More than just cosmetics, these are products designed to energise your mindset and elevate your routine. For those wanting to step away from the high street brands and embrace a more ethical, mindful approach then B:UNDENIABLE is the brand to go for. The products are vegan, cruelty-free, and are made with sustainable, recyclable materials.

The five piece range – Radiant Quartz Face & Body Bronzer, GlowGem Highlighter Shaker, Radaint Quartz Melt & Glow Primer, Radinat Quartz HD Translucent Powder and HD Highlighter Shaker have been carefully crafted to deliver more than surface level sparkle. How I hear you ask – well each product is infused with clear quartz, a crystal well known for promoting clarity, confidence, and positive energy. It brings a subtle energy that elevates your beauty regime into something just a little bit magical.

The Ruby Red Hi Res Lip Lacquer (£23) is a show-stopping, high-shine gloss that delivers maximum impact in a single swipe. Think deep, classic red with a smooth, hydrating finish that feels as good as it looks. The applicator picks up just the right amount of product and it glides on like a dream leaving you with gorgeously glossy, kissable lips in seconds. Infused with Vitamin E and packed with conditioning ingredients, this gloss also helps to soften lips and reduce the appearance of fine lines. Like the rest of the collection, it’s paraben-free, perfume-free, vegan-friendly, and suitable for all skin types. Perfect for a hot date, night out with the girls or just because you fancy feeling fabulous on a wet Wednesday!

If red isn’t your colour then don’t worry as there are five other shades to choose from –  Cocoa Velvet, Ivory Kiss, Icy Diamond, Bare Elegance, and Pinky Bloom.

The GlowGem Highlighter Shaker (£26) is a silky loose powder highlighter that is infused with clear quartz for an extra dose of radiant energy. This luminous pigment blends effortlessly, giving a perfect buildable shimmer wherever you need it. Use it on  cheekbones, brow bones or collarbones where the finely milled texture creates a dewy, light-catching finish that enhances your natural glow without feeling heavy on your skin. Whether you want a subtle gleam or full-on radiance, this highlighter delivers.

My favourite product is the Radiant Quartz Face & Body Bronzer (£36). This is like sunshine in a pot – a buildable bronzer that adds warmth and luminosity to the skin while nourishing it at the same time. Infused with ultra-fine clear quartz crystals, this bronzer captures and reflects light beautifully, leaving your skin looking sun-kissed and luminous. The formula is enriched with hydrating botanical extracts and antioxidants to keep your skin feeling as good as it looks. Whether you prefer a soft wash of colour or a more sculpted, contoured look, this bronzer is designed to be layered and customised. Available in three shades, Bronze, Gold, and Pearl, it offers long-lasting wear and a natural finish and like the rest of the range it’s vegan, perfume-free, paraben-free and suitable for all skin tones.

B:UNDENIABLE is about more than surface-level beauty. It’s about embracing your individuality, radiating confidence, and choosing products that align with your values. With a focus on ethical luxury, sustainability, and skin-loving ingredients, this is beauty that doesn’t just look good—it feels good too.

So whether you’re after the perfect red lip for party season, a radiant glow to take you through summer, or simply want to elevate your daily routine, B:UNDENIABLE has you covered.

Levitex Anywhere Travel Pillow

Disclaimer – We have received this item for free or on a loan basis for the purpose of this review/feature but all words and opinions are our own.

For the traveller, taking some home comforts with you on your journey is the perfect remedy to long distance flights or uncomfortable car rides. Levitex, the sleep posture experts, have a travel sized pillow in their customary design which can be taken on a plane as hand luggage or packed away.

Measuring approximately 30cms by 35cms when inflated, the pillow comes in 4 sizes (S-XL) and the website details how you work out what size is needed depending on your height and your sleeping position. The Levitex Anywhere Travel Pillow also differs from other pillows because it is completely compressible and can deflate into a roll, secured with the enclosed strap so that you can take it with you in a rucksack or hand luggage.

To inflate the pillow to the correct pressure, you use the valve to allow air in to maximum size. Then, by literally punching the pillow with your fist to a depth of about 1cm, allow some of the air to escape then close up the valve. The firmness of the foam in the pillow give your head and neck the support needed to compose a good sleep posture to be able to sleep anywhere, and as it’s individualised to you in both pillow size and the firmness of the inflation, you can adapt it subtly to give you an even better sleep.

No more carrying bulky neck pillows at the airport and having nowhere to store them!  Levitex Anywhere Travel Pillow is also great for keeping in the car on long journeys or for children needing a pillow to travel. It also comes in a drawstring bag to protect it but allows you to keep it packed in between journeys.

Got2b GLUED Blasting Freeze Hairspray and got2b GLUSED Brows & Edges

Disclaimer – We have received this item for free or on a loan basis for the purpose of this review/feature but all words and opinions are our own.

I’ve never seen the got2b GLUED range before so I was pleasantly surprised to see how well their products work. I was sent the got2b GLUED Blasting Freeze Hairspray and got2b GLUSED Brows & Edges, both of which are available at Boots and Superdrugs.

Got2b GLUED Blasting Freeze Hairspray is a silicones-free, vegan hairspray for maximum hold that lasts up to 72 hours. It can be used on all hair types, and has a hold that sets in seconds. A quick spray shows that it sets promptly and manages to hold even the heaviest of curls.  I tried this when styling after straightening my hair and adding a ‘flick’ to the ends. Even with tying it back, my hair stayed firm until I brushed it out. It does wash out easily though and isn’t sticky. This will be a great lifesaver when I have to have my hair styled the day before a wedding and I need to travel without flattening my barnet!

The got2b GLUSED Brows & Edges is a 2 in 1 gel for brows and the edges of brows, especially if they have just been dyed.  The generous brush fixes brow hairs in place whist the gel, which is also vegan and silicones-free, keeps brows where you want them.  It’s easily washed away with make-up remover at the end of the day but I particularly like this for something like a wedding or an all-day even where you want everything to stay in place. It’s called GLUED for a reason! You can feel it drying too, which is also reassuring when you’ve spent ages doing your make-up. Just be sure not to use it on your eyelashes or close to your eyes.

Schwarzkopf Haircare for Summer – Protection Spray, Hair Gloss and Blow-Dry Straightening Cream

Disclaimer – We have received this item for free or on a loan basis for the purpose of this review/feature but all words and opinions are our own.

Summer hair is so different to the rest of the year if like me, you can dry it naturally in the sun. Summer also means we have to treat our hair differently with all new products though, which is why Schwarzkopf have a range of different products perfect for this weather!

I was sent the Schwarzkopf Protection Spray, Hair Glass and Blow-Dry Straightening Cream to try out. I started with the Hair Gloss, which was a new product to me. I have dark hair which is dyed so this product was intriguing.  It promises a chocolate coloured shine boost to dyed hair that lasts 5-6 washes and promotes a healthy glow. Used as part of the conditioning phase of a hair wash, the Schwarzkopf Hair Gloss recommends using gloves to apply the cream, leaving on the hair for 5 minutes and then rinsing off and styling as usual. I tried this in the shower where I have a timer for my conditioner, and thankfully it didn’t stain my hands but it does run the water a funny colour like hair dye does once it’s rinsed out, so be careful of towels etc. I agree though, it’s great for in between dying as it compliments your natural colour as well as your dye and leaves a deeper shine to your hair. If you have undyed hair, I can see it bringing out natural colour too.

The Schwarzkopf Blow-Dry Straightening Cream is great for when you want to eliminate frizzy hair that’s dried naturally.  It’s very light, so applies easily and doesn’t leave a heavy residue on the hair. Use it on damp hair then blow dry with a round brush to get the softer but sleeker texture than you get from straighteners. You can of course use it with straighteners too but I won’t be doing that until I really have to in the winter to allow my hair to recover from the heat whilst the weather is still warm.  The Schwarzkopf Blow-Dry Straightening Cream left my hair soft and sleek and easily styled.

Finally, the Schwarzkopf protection spray is a heat protection for straighteners and blow dried hair.  Use it on damp hair, but don’t put straighteners straight onto your hair. The heat of the straighteners on wet hair can damage it so it’s best to use a hairdryer or let it dry naturally first!  The heat protection works very well to flatten the hair length and prevent or remedy frizziness. I also like to use it on dry hair to help style it when I’m brushing back into a pony tail with a course brush. Schwarzkopf Protection Spray is 0% alcohol so it doesn’t leave your hair sticky at all.

All of the products in the Schwarzkopf range are great for summer, but I especially like the idea of using Schwarzkopf Hair Gloss before you go on holiday, and taking the Straightening Cream and Protection Spray with you to combat Holiday Hair.  Even better, they will last throughout the autumn and winter to nourish your hair during the cold season too.

Levitex Sleep Posture Pillow

Disclaimer – We have received this item for free or on a loan basis for the purpose of this review/feature but all words and opinions are our own.

Most of us complain about bad sleep but we rarely do anything about it, just accepting that it’s part of life.  Levitex however, have designed a sleep posture pillow that combats some of the causes of sleepless nights including the aches and pains associated with bad posture when sleeping.

I was asked to have an online consultation with founder James Leinhardt; a sleep posture expert with 15 years experience in working with patients who have complex neurological conditions. He explains that after seeing people lying in beds following operations, accidents and neurological complications, he could see why they weren’t sleeping well and waking with more pain than they should. It was all down to their sleep posture.

James started by explaining his background then asking questions about my sleep. How long does it take me to get to sleep? Did I wake up with aches and pains? Where were they?  What position do I sleep in and what position was I in when I woke up?  After gauging some background and no doubt looking at my posture as I spoke to him on the laptop (yes, I was hunched over and we spoke about that too!) James suggested that I try the Levitex Sleep Posture Pillow in the 8cm (small) size.  This, along with sleeping with another pillow under my knees as I’m a back sleeper, would help my back relax and give a better posture when sleeping.

The Levitex Sleep Posture Pillow arrived in beautiful presentation box with some information from James about the company and how to use the pillow. It looks different to my usual fluffy feather-filled pillows because it’s made of foam and therefore has a more defined shape.  It’s only 8cm high too, which is far smaller than my usual height of pillows but this was the purpose of the consultation – to find out if I was supported enough when I slept.

The Levitex pillow is a bit smaller than your usual pillow case size but it still fits so your bed aesthetics are safe!  I tried out the pillow for a nap first of all because it was obvious that a change in sleep posture was going to be a jolt.  Firstly, the height took a while to get used to. Having half the height of my normal pillows meant I had to completely change the way I sleep, but that is the point.  I also had to get used to sleeping on foam which has a different texture and a slight scent to it which takes a while to fade.

After a trial nap, I then tried sleeping with it on the bed.  Again, a full night takes a while to get used to the change in posture. As I sleep on my back, I had to adjust where the pillow meets the back of my neck to get the optimum angle to be able to sleep comfortably.  It probably took one night of waking and adjusting the position before I could comfortably say that I was in the right place to be able to sleep and have my body relax into the posture needed.

In the morning, it was a gradual wake up and wiggle of the toes to find that my shoulders were more relaxed and refreshed. I also noticed that my face wasn’t as puffy as sometimes, presumably because the pillow allowed for better lymphatic drainage from my face. Over time and with the adjustments James suggested to my sleep positions, I’m hoping I will be able to continue the good nights’ sleep even more!

Brainbox Games

Disclaimer: We received these products free of charge for the purpose of this review and all thoughts and opinions are our own.

We’re two weeks into the school holidays, and so far the weather’s been, well… uncooperative. Grey skies and drizzle have meant we’ve been spending more time indoors than we’d like, which in turn means the board games have come out in earnest. Finding a game that holds the attention of little ones and keeps older children (and to be honest, adults too) entertained can be a bit of a challenge so we were really pleased when BrainBox sent us a couple of their games to play – Maths, The World and the pocket-sized Space version and I’m pleased to report that they’ve all gone down a treat – even the Maths!!

With a RRP of £13.99 RRP, these games are a brilliant blend of fun and learning – just don’t tell the children about the learning part! They’re simple to learn, engaging enough to keep everyone involved, and with a wide range of themes you can easily find one that matches your family’s interests.

Each BrainBox game includes 55 colourful cards, a ten-second sand timer, and an eight-sided dice. Players take turns drawing a card and studying it for ten seconds before rolling the dice to determine which question they’ll be asked from the back of the card. Get it right, you keep the card; get it wrong, it goes back into the box. After ten minutes – or longer if you want – the player with the most cards is declared the winner.

It’s not just memory that’s tested. The World edition, for example, covers 55 different countries, with questions not just about geography, but colours, objects, and flags and it’s easy to tailor the challenge to the age of the child. Even reluctant readers get swept up, our eight-year-old, who usually avoids books, especially in the holidays, happily reads the questions aloud, thrilled to uncover quirky facts about animals, landmarks, and places he’d never heard of.

The Maths game is a great confidence booster for children who might find numbers a bit daunting. It sneaks in numeracy practice without it feeling like homework, and our mini reviewers were so busy playing, they didn’t even realise they were learning.

The pocket-sized version (RRP £6.99), like the Space edition we’ve been playing, is perfect for holidays. With 25 cards and 150 questions, plus 25 conversation starters, it’s just the right size to slip into a bag or backpack. Ideal for long journeys, by car, train, or plane, it’s bound to keep little hands and minds busy while you navigate the motorway or airport.

So, if you’re looking for something to keep your children entertained, thinking, and maybe even a little bit wiser over the summer holidays, BrainBox games are a fantastic choice. Even just a quick ten-minute play before bed or in the car on a day out can help build knowledge, encourage curiosity, and with any luck, ease the back-to-school transition come September.

Who knew a little cardboard box could hold so much fun – and so many facts?

Technics AZ100 Earbuds

Disclaimer: We received this product free of charge for the purpose of this review and all thoughts and opinions are our own.

From the moment you lift the lid on the Technics AZ100 earbuds, they make an impression. The sleek, weighty charging case feels every bit as premium as you’d hope, while the neatly laid out set of ear tip sizes hints at just how much thought has gone into comfort and fit. And the experience doesn’t stop there, the Technics Audio Connect app helps guide you to the right ear tips size to give a snug secure fit that blocks out unwanted noise.

These earbuds are clearly designed for people who really care about sound and it shows. With Hi-Res Audio Wireless support and Dolby Atmos optimisation, the AZ100s deliver an immersive high fidelity experience that’s hard to match in the wireless earbuds category. But what really sets them apart is the inclusion of magnetic fluid drivers, a high-end feature that coaxes out deep, textured bass with astonishing control. The result? Warm, full sound that feels balanced and easy to listen to.

For those who love to fine-tune their sound, the Technics app offers a range of pre-set EQ modes plus custom settings, allowing you to customise your audio experience so whether you’re into classical, rock or podcasts, the AZ100’s will make your content sound its best.

The touch controls on the AZ100 earbuds are nice and simple to use, especially as they  can be customised to your own preference by using the Technics Audio Connect app. I found it really easy to assign functions like play/pause, skip tracks, volume control, switching noise-cancelling modes, or answering calls to either earbud and you can also choose the number of taps to each function making them work in a way that suits you best.

The noise cancelling on the AZ100 earbuds is seriously impressive. While other earbuds can struggle when your surroundings change, these ones automatically adjust to what’s going on around you. So whether you’re on a noisy train or walking through a quiet park, they block out just the right amount of background sound to keep your listening experience clear and consistent.

The battery life is equally impressive – with up to 10 hours listening time on a single charge, with the case adding an additional 28 hours which is perfect if you’re off on holiday this summer. USB-C charging and Qi wireless support make it easy to top up the charge wherever you are.

Connectivity, too, is another area where the AZ100 excels. With multipoint pairing for up to three devices, switching between your phone, laptop, and tablet is seamless, a real boon for multitaskers who don’t want to fiddle with settings every time they change tasks.

I’m really enjoying the Technics AZ100 earbuds, they fit comfortably, sound fantastic, offer excellent battery life, and come with an easy-to-use app that enhances the whole experience. Whether you’re after crisp detail, deep bass, or just a reliable pair of earbuds that perform across the board, these deliver on every front.
