In our continued look at the Kikkerland range where we have ample of choice for Christmas presents, these felt catch-all trays accompany the felt desk tray we looked at a few months ago.
With the trays measuring 18 centimetres in diameter (for the smaller tray) and the larger one at 22 centimetres they fit in the drawer of a desk quite neatly. Their height of 5.5 centimetres allows them to ‘catch’ a lot. There’s enough room for a stapler, hole punch, even a pair of glasses to sit in them quite comfortably as well as the various staples, loose change and paperclips that always seem to gather on desks. If you’re in the office and need to transport your desk home, these trays are easy to carry and pack away, their felt material making them easy to squash into a box or your bag to take away.
The felt, which is surprisingly thick and also hemmed with an overlock stitch to keep it from fraying, also means that it doesn’t damage furniture when you throw your keys in (not that I do that, of course!). They’re pretty tough and durable so the kids won’t damage them, or themselves if you decide to use these for a change table or in the nursery. They’re ideal actually as the felt works as cushion, preventing a certain amount of breakages.
When they need cleaning, it’s simply a damp cloth and soapy water. The more I think about it, the more these trays are an ideal addition to any home, office or car because they’re so versatile!
